Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar turns 36 on Friday still harbouring one dream; to win the World Cup for India.For a man who has achieved so much and set the standards in the modern era of the game, it is an anamoly that he still does not have a world cup title medal around his neck. And the Little Master is determined to change that when the event comes visiting to the Indian subcontinent in 2011.
At a recent function in Mumbai he laughed away the question saying "You only dream when you are asleep." But then quickly added, "I want to win the World Cup for India."During the function, Sachin also narrated his special birthday moment on the field.On April 24, 1998 Sachin Tendulkar hit an exhilarating century against Australia to lead India to a win in the triangular series tournament in Sharjah. Just a day before he had hit 141 against the same opposition to enable India to qualify for the finals."That victory was a very special birthday gift," he recounted.Tendulkar, who is at present leading the Mumbai Indians in the second edition of the IPL, was in for a surprise at Cape Town where his team and other players from the Indian team organised a surprise birthday party at the hotel.
Yuvraj Singh, Harbahajan Singh and Zaheer Khan gave Sachin a thorough paint job with the cake.Speaking to reporters, en ever-humbe Sachin said, "It is the good wishes and blessings that count a lot. My family is joining me tomorrow, so am really looking forward to it."The master blaster said he was still every moment of playing the game. "I would like to achieve the enjoyment factor. It is important to enjoy the game and only then will you come out with your best andf that's what I want to do," he added.
