AUSTRALIA VS NEWZELAND 4th ODI:Hussey brothers shine as Australia square series

Australia won the fourth One-Day International against New Zealand by six wickets to level the five-match series 2-2 here on Tuesday. The day belonged to the Hussey brothers of Australia. While Michael Hussey slammed an unbeaten 75, David Hussey top scored with 79 from 96 balls. Michael Hussey scored four boundaries and two sixes in the 71-ball knock. His brother David made 79 from 96 balls including six fours.Chasing 245 to win, Australia lost Michael Clarke early. Ponting followed suit nine overs later as the hosts were 57-2. David Hussey and Brad Haddin then made some rescue act, adding 44 runs. But Haddin was run out for 43 in the 25th over, going for a second that was not meant for. That brought Mike in to the middle who forged a 115-run stand with his brother. Both of them played sensibly, bringing Australia near to the victory when O'Brien struck to bowl David out. But the hosts were already smelling victory. Mike sent the ball to the fence four overs later as Aussies romped home with six wickets at hand.Earlier, Ross Taylor waged a lone battle to save New Zealand from a middle order collapse. Taylor played a determined knock of 76 with six fours and two sixes from 71 balls.New Zealand, after electing to bat, were off to a steady start. But after the exit of Guptill, the Kiwis lost two more wickets in quick succession. Taylor and G Eliott put some resistance thereafter. But David Hussey took a brilliant catch to send Eliott packing soon.

Despite Australia's efforts to restrict the Kiwis under 200, some late efforts by the tail helped New Zealand reach 244-8 in 50 overs. Mitchel Johnson took three wickets as Hopes got two. Bracken, Hilfenhaus and Clarke scalped one each. The final match will be played under lights in Perth on Friday.
