Chennai super kings vs Deccan Chargers Highlights IPL 5

Deccan Chargers innings:
15th over: 101 for 8 Jadeja in his elements today. After hitting a 25-ball 48, he strikes with four wickets. First he has Gony caught by Raina and then gets Teja stumped. His figures now reads 4 for 14.
14th over: 99 for 6 Things are out of Deccan's reach now as they lost their sixth. Daniel Christian goes for a big heave but misses the slog sweep, and Bravo takes another catch in the deep. Jakati gets his second wicket.
13th over: 95 for 5 Jadeja has been bowling well. The left-arm orthodox is not giving away an easy runs. A six off the first ball, a dot on the second, and Chipli misses out on the third and is cleaned up. Just another single off the last three balls.
12th over: 88 for 4: Jakati gets his first as Deccan's captain White also departs. White tries to repeat the six off the previous ball but finds Raina at long-off.
C White c Raina b Jakati 23 (16)
11th over: 78 for 3 Now Jadeja comes into attack. A four by Patel, who goes back and pulls it over the deep square leg boundary, then another dot which is followed by the wicket. Patel goes for a slog sweep but chops the ball back on to his stumps. An excellent over by Jadeja.
P Patel b Jadeja 20 (17)
10th over: 73 for 2 The first ball is a dot as White makes room for himself but doesn't connect it. A similar attempt on the next and the ball goes past Bravo for a four. Another dot and a boundary off the next two balls and another two singles.
9th over: 63 for 2 The asking rate is hovering around 12 now. Both Parthiv Patel and Cameron White are struggling with their timings. Only six singles off Raina's second over.
8th over: 57 for 2 It's just not happening for Deccan. An eight-run over is not going to help their cause of chasing a massive total. They need a very big over that will give them the much-needed momentum.
7th over: 49 for 2 It has happened quite often that Raina picks up a wicket in his first over, and today is no different. Dhawan goes for the slog sweep but finds Bravo in the deep. A very good over by Raina, who gives away just four runs.
S Dhawan c Bravo b Raina 21 (18)
6th over: 45 for 1 Patel's chip over the cover region brings up his first boundary. Another four by Dhawan, who flicks Bollinger through the mid-wicket region. Another two singles as 10 runs come off this over.
5th over: 35 for 1 Just three runs are conceded by Ashwin in his third over. It's a bit strange that Dhoni has given three back-to-back overs to Ashwin, who has just given away 12 runs so far. Deccan batsmen need to fire now.
4th over: 32 for 1 Dhoni brings Bollinger, who after getting smacked for two consecutive boundaries by Harris, replies by getting him caught by the captain. Deccan lose their first wicket.
D Harris c Dhoni b Bollinger 15 (14)
3rd over: 21 for no loss Five singles off Ashwin's second over. It's time to attack for the Deccan's openers, who are not getting their timings right. The asking rate crosses 10.
2nd over: 16 for no loss Morne Morkel comes into attack. Three singles off the first three balls and a dot off the fourth. Then two boundaries to Shikhar Dhawan. First is a thick inside edge past Dhoni and the second one is a flick through the square leg region. 12 runs from Morkel's first over.
1st over: 4 for no loss Daniel Harris starts with a boundary. Ashwin gives him a little width outside off and he cuts past the backward point and short third man. Five dot balls follow as Ashwin mesmerises Harris with his variety. An unsuccessful appeal for a catch that comes off the batsman's pads finishes Ashwin's first over.
Chennai Super Kings innings:
20th over: 193 for 6 What a last over. 23 runs come off it. Bravo takes Gony to the cleaners, hitting the medium-pacer for three huge sixes. Last five overs have produced 72 runs for CSK. Bravo finishes 43 not out off 18 balls. Gony goes for 54 in his four.
19th over: 170 for 6 Two singles off the first two balls follows by a miscued six between long-on and long-off. Another maximum by the West Indian, who clears his front leg to deposit Sudhindra's full-length ball over the deep mid-wicket fence. Chennai are now targeting well over 170.
18th over: 153 for 6 Jadeja's cameo ends. While trying to flick a Steyn's delivery, Jadeja's toe touches the off stump. A sad dismissal to a brilliant innings. Steyn also finishes his four-over spell, giving away 25 picking up two wickets.
R Jadeja hit wicket b Steyn 48 (29)
17th over: 145 for 5 Not so good return for Sudhindra, who is clobbered for a mammoth straight six by Jadeja. Another six runs have been taken from this over. Chennai are looking good to post something around 170. But a lot depends on this pair of Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo.
16th over: 133 for 5 Four singles off the first four balls and Jadeja thinks enough is enough. The diminutive batsman chips out and whacks the fifth through covers for a four and sends the last ball through mid-wicket for another boundary.
15th over: 121 for 5 Steyn returns. A first-ball, follows by a quickly-taken two and another dot and another two off the next two. Dhoni doesn't get under the ball and hits it straight to Dan Harris. A crucial wicket at this stage of the game.
MS Dhoni c Harris b Steyn 7 (9)
14th over: 115 for 4 Great over for CSK. Jadeja takes 18 off Ankit Sharma's third over. The risk of bringing on a left-arm spinner against the left-handed Jadeja doesn't pay off. Jadeja hits Sharma for a four and two sixes, giving the Chennai innings the much-needed boost.
13th over: 97 for 4: Christian gets his second wicket. Badrinath slices an outside off delivery straight to backward point fielder Chipli, who takes a sharp catch.
S Badrinath c Chipli b Christian 25 (20)
12th over: 93 for 3 Gony comes back into the attack and goes for seven in his third over.
11th over: 85 for 3 Both Badrinath and Jadeja are excellent runners between the wickets. As boundaries are hard to come by, the two batsmen are scampering for runs. Sudhindra sends one down the leg side for a wide and a single off the next ball by Badrinath. Another single and a four by Badrinath on the fourth. The right-hander makes room and hits a shot delivery by Sudhindra between the mid-on and mid-wicket region. Ten runs come off this over.
10th over: 75 for 3 Christian has just given 10 runs in his two overs so far. This over has produced two of those. Jadeja joins Badrinath. CSK are hoping these two to fire.
9th over: 71 for 3 The danger man goes. Trying to clear the boundary one more time, du plessis hits a pitched-up ball into the hands of Christian at long-on. TP Sudhindra, playing his first IPL game, gets a wicket on the very delivery. Except a four off the last ball, the bowler gives only four more runs. Eight runs and a wicket. A good start by Sudhindra.
F du Plessis c Christian b Sudhindra 39 (25)
8th over: 63 for 2 Badrinath joins du Plussis in the middle. Left-arm orthodox Ankit Sharma returns. A single follows by another straight six by du Plessis, his fourth six and may be the longest of all. But a good comeback by the bowler as only one run comes off the next four deliveries.
7th over: 55 for 2 After Dan Christian, another Australian, Daniel Harris, comes into bowl. Three singles on the first three balls, follows by another cracking six by du Plessis on the fourth. The young South African batsman is turning it on now. Two two more singles to finish the over.
6th over: 44 for 2 Christian provides the breakthrough. After a boundary off the first ball, Raina miscues a hoick, lofting the ball straight up in the air, and the bowler takes a good catch in his followthrough. Six runs and a wicket. White would be happy with Christians' effort.
S Raina c & b Christian 16 (12)
5th over: 38 for 1 Great over for CSK. After two runs on the first three balls, du Plessis opens his shoulders, hits a four and two sixes off Gony. The first maximum sails over the mid-wicket fence while the second goes well over the long-off boundary. Was this sort of an over CSK were looking for? Only time will tell.
4th over: 20 for 1 Runs are coming in singles and doubles. Good stuff by Deccan bowlers. They are keeping things tight. Another tidy over from Steyn finishes. Five singles come in his over. Chennai batsmen should look to attack now.
3rd over: 15 for 1 Manpreet Gony has been brought into the attack. Raina welcomes him with a fierce square drive off the first delivery. A dot and a single on the next two balls, follows by another two dot balls and single on the last three. Good comeback by Gony. Only six runs from his over.
2nd over: 7 for 1 Seven runs off Steyn's first over. Two dots balls, a single by du Plessis next ball, a cracking cover drive by Suresh Raina follows on fourth. Another single off to third and a peach of a delivery, which lands on a good length and passes the outside edge of du Plessis' bat, ends a good over.
1st over: 2 for 1 A great start from Ankit Sharma. After giving two runs away to Murali Vijay off the first ball, and sending down three dot balls, the left-arm spinner Sharma cleans up Vijay on the fifth. Another dot ball to finish. Vijay flops again.
M Vijay b Ankit Sharma 2 (5)
7:30 p.m. Deccan Chargers' skipper Cameron White won the toss and asked Chennai Super Kings to bat first in the sixth match of IPL 5 in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.
Chennai have kept the same side which took on Mumbai Indians in the opening game, while Deccan have also got a good mixture of foreign and Indian players.
Teams:
Deccan Chargers: Daniel Harris, Shikhar Dhawan, Parthiv Patel (wk), Bharat Chipli, Cameron White(capt), Daniel Christian, Dwaraka Ravi Teja, Ankit Sharma, Dale Steyn, Manpreet Gony, TP Sudhindra
Chennai Super Kings: Faf du Plessis, Murali Vijay, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Albie Morkel, S Badrinath, MS Dhoni (wk/capt), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shadab Jakati, Doug Bollinger

Delhi dare devils vs Royal challengers Bangalore Highlights IPL 5

Bangalore: A Chris Gayle-less Royal Challengers Bangalore overcame two tricky situations, the first with the bat and then with the ball, to open their IPL 5 campaign with a 20-run win over Delhi Daredevils at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB were struggling for momentum during their innings, having lost six wickets for 103 runs before AB de Villiers, who struck an unbeaten 42-ball 64, and Vinay Kumar (18) put on 54 in 5.3 overs. Their bowlers, despite the loss of Virender Sehwag for a first-ball 0, were under a bit of pressure as Naman Ojha and Aaron Finch threatened to wage a counter-attack but in a crafty Muttiah Muralitharan the home team had the desired wicket-taker. Murali, in his first IPL match for RCB, took 3 for 25 as Delhi were kept to 137 for 7, falling to their first defeat at this venue.
In the absence of Gayle (injured) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (national duty), Bangalore opened with Cheteshwar Pujara and the Victoria allrounder Andrew McDonald, who powered a 37-run opening stand in four overs. A flowing drive over extra cover for six off IPL debutant Doug Bracewell was an appetizer for what McDonald was in the mood for, and in the third over it was Irfan Pathan who felt his full force. Twenty runs came in four deliveries as McDonald hammered boundaries past mid-off and mid-on, dumped a big six over long-on and slapped the final ball over the covers for four more.
Morne Morkel removed Pujara for 11 - pulling to deep square leg – and added McDonald owing to a stunning piece of fielding from Bracewell, who made his first impact for Bangalore with a superb one-handed running catch from midwicket. Given the ball promptly after his athletic effort, Bracewell had his first IPL wicket when Virat Kohli spooned a catch to Yogesh Nagar at backward point for 8.
Matters got worse when Saurabh Tiwary was trapped lbw off offspinner Glenn Maxwell's first ball in the IPL (59 for 4). Mayank Agarwal – demoted to the middle order after his previous appearances for RCB – hit a few lusty blows including a sweet pick-up six off Mornel, but his aggression consumed him. Looking to hit Shahbaz Nadeem's left-arm spin for six, he succeeded in picking out Nagar at long-off.
Luckily for Bangalore, they had de Villiers. Punching the ball around the park and running superbly between wickets, and setting himself up for a late surge, de Villiers produced a sparkling half-century. His first boundary took 20 balls, but de Villiers ensured RCB got at least one boundary in the 13th, 14th, 15th and 17th over before he tore into Irfan in the penultimate. When Irfan let loose a full toss outside off stump, de Villiers astonishingly switched his grip to lap six over third man. Irfan erred in sending down another full toss, and this time de Villiers dinked it to third man for four with another reverse-paddle. The next ball was a far more orthodox shot, as de Villiers swatted a length ball outside off stump to the square-leg boundary. He only managed to get on strike for two balls in the final over bowled by Bracewell, who conceded two fours and took two wickets.
In the second innings, Zaheer Khan opened the bowling sporting new straightened hair, but his length was all over the place and Finch clubbed his first three deliveries for four. Zaheer was lucky to pick up Sehwag first ball as the Delhi captain slapped a wide ball straight into Pujara's lap at cover. That brought to the crease Ojha, who began with a four and six off Vinay and kept the tempo going against Zaheer, cutting and driving him for boundaries.
With RCB's medium-pacers having little impact, the turning point came when Daniel Vettori tossed the ball to Murali, with Delhi well placed at 53 for 1 after seven overs. With his third ball Murali forced Ojha (33) to cut a catch to Kohli at slip and in his next over trapped Finch lbw for 25. Then Maxwell lapped Murali to Zaheer at short fine leg, Delhi slipping from needing 100 from 12 overs with eight wickets in hand to 82 from eight with six wickets left.
Once Agarwal held a blinder of a diving catch running in from long-off to send back Venugopal Rao, Delhi's hopes lay with Irfan. He managed to spoil Murali's final over with a four and six, but as wickets tumbled at the other end the run rate mounted and Delhi ended up 21 runs short of their target.

The MS Dhoni-led side would like to forget the disappointments of the opening match when they lost to Mumbai Indians. Their batsmen were found wanting against the pace of Lasith Malinga and the agility of some of the Mumbai fielders. Deccan, who finished seventh in the last edition, will be hoping to make a winning start. In the absence of regular skipper Kumar Sangakkara, Cameron White will lead Deccan.

Mumbai Indians VS Pune warriors Highlights IPL 5

Mumbai: Pune Warriors India stunned fancied Mumbai Indians by 29 runs to kick-start their second Indian Premier League season with a win after Ashok Dinda's 4 for 17 helped Sourav Ganguly's team defend a paltry 129 for 9.
Dinda ran through the Mumbai top order, sending back Ambati Rayudu (1) and Rohit Sharma (1) and then coming back to show the exit door to a well-set James Franklin (32). After being reduced to 5 for 3 in the second over, Franklin and Dinesh Karthik tried to resurrect Mumbai's chase but veteran Murali Kartik removed Karthik (32) to end Mumbai's hopes of a recovery. And when Rahul Sharma bowled Kieron Pollard in the 16th over, the hosts were left to fight a lost battle.
Electing to bowl first, Mumbai took field without Sachin Tendulkar, who had to sit out due to the finger injury he suffered in the match against Chennai Super Kings. Pune lost their openers – Manish Pandey (0) and captain Ganguly (3) - in the first four overs. Robin Uthappa (36) and Steven Smith (39) tried to hit their team out of trouble but wickets continued to tumble at the other end, helping Mumbai to restrict the visitors. Lasith Malinga and Munaf Patel were the most successful Mumbai bowlers with two wickets each.

Rajasthan Royals VS kings XI punjab live streaming IPL5 April 6th 2012

The fourth match of IPL 5 will be a battle of two under-performing teams. Rajasthan Royals, led by the recently retired Rahul Dravid, take on Kings XI Punjab, led by captain-cum-coach Adam Gilchrist, at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Friday.
Rajasthan - who won the inaugural IPL in 2008 - will be without their former mentor Shane Warne who called it quits last season. His replacement at the helm, Dravid, has a challenge on his hands as he attempts to make do with a bunch of young and unproven players, in a tough competitive tournament.
With Shane Watson absent due to his Australia commitments, the Rajasthan batting will be reliant on the Indian contingent of Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane, Ashok Menaria and Faiz Fazal. As for the overseas players, Brad Hodge, Paul Collingwood and Owais Shah will be counted on heavily. Each team is allowed to field four overseas players, and it is likely that Rajasthan will accommodate two of Hodge, Collingwood and Shah. Hodge and Collingwood are wicket-taking options and may edge out Shah. Until Sri Lanka's Dinesh Chandimal arrives in India, former Under-19 wicketkeeper Shreevats Goswami will keep wicket.
On the bowling front, Rajasthan look much more settled. The inclusion of Sreesanth has given the bowling department a competitive edge, and he is expected to share the new ball with Shaun Tait. The duo will be backed by Siddharth Trivedi, one of Rajasthan's most successful medium-pacers, and Gujarat seamer Amit Singh. In Brad Hogg and Johan Botha the team has two competitive spinners who can bat, but it is highly unlikely that both will play.
At the IPL auction this year Punjab opted not to go for any big players, thus making the team a bit weak as compared to the other franchisees. Coached and led by Gilchrist, the team will rely on the likes of the destructive opener Paul Valthaty, Shaun Marsh, David Hussey, David Miller, Abhishek Nayar, Paras Dogra and Sunny Singh. It is probable that Marsh and Hussey will be first-choice selections for the No. 3 and 4 spots, with Nayar, Dogra and Singh completing the middle order.
There is also former Pakistan allrounder Azhar Mahmood in the squad, but to fit him in would mean dropping a foreign fast bowler of one of Hussey and Marsh, which is unlikely to happen. In the bowling department, Punjab will be without pacer Ryan Harris, who is away on international duty. That leaves Praveen Kumar to lead the attack, with seamers Nathan Rimington and Vikramjeet Malik and the spin pair of Piyush Chawla and Ramesh Powar forming a capable bowling outfit.
On paper, Rajasthan look slight favourites to prevail in Friday's match, on the back of their more penetrative bowling attack.
Probable XIs:
Rajasthan Royals: 1 Rahul Dravid (capt), 2 Ajinkya Rahane, 3 Brad Hodge, 4 Owais Shah, 5 Paul Collingwood, 6 Ashok Menaria, 7 Shreevats Goswami (wk), 8 Johan Botha/Brad Hogg, 9 Sreesanth, 10 Shaun Tait, 11 Siddharth Trivedi
Kings XI Punjab: 1 Adam Gilchrist (capt/wk), 2 Paul Valthaty, 3 Shaun Marsh, 4 David Hussey, 5 Paras Dogra, 6 Abhishek Nayar, 7 Sunny Singh, 8 Piyush Chawla, 9 Ramesh Powar, 10 Nathan Rimmington, 11 Vikramjeet Malik

Mumbai Indians VS Pune warriors Live sreaming April 6th 2012

Pune Warriors innings:
19th over: 124 for 7 Malinga concedes five from his final over to finish with 2 for 16. Smith manages a boundary through midwicket, but Pune don't seem to have enough on

18th over: 116 for 7 Mumbai will have mixed reactions to that over. Ojha returns and bowls out his quota by conceding 11 and picking a wicket. Second ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is beaten all ends by a lovely ball that grips and turns from leg stump and takes out off stump. Then Murali Kartik gets a first-ball four with a well-placed sweep and then lofts Ojha over long-on for six.
17th over: 105 for 6 Harbhajan goes back to his strike bowler, Malinga, who concedes just five runs from the over while dismissing Samuels. The first ball is clipped for two, but the second is a superb yorker which uproots Samuels' middle stump. Not sure why he was rooted to the crease and going back to expose the stumps. That ball was destined to hit timber anyway. Top yorker. Malinga keeps it full all over and Smith struggles to time his shots. Great comeback over from Malinga.
16th over: 100 for 5 Pollard comes back for his final over and gets Uthappa first ball, but also concedes nine runs. Uthappa miscues an attempted hit and ends up chipping a catch back to the bowler, who takes the simple offering and pumps his fist. Big blow for Pune just as they were looking primed for a late surge. Marlon Samuels comes out for his first innings in the IPL and nearly drives a catch to mid-off first ball. Smith keeps working the ball into the leg side and steals a couple off Pollard, and then smacks the last ball past square leg for a four that raises the team's 100.
15th over: 91 for 4 Munaf comes back into the attack and gives away ten runs. Smith tries to open his shoulders but cannot time the shots well. Munaf varies his pace well. Crafty bowler in Twenty20 cricket.
There's also an appeal for a run out as Smith drives out to sweeper cover and harries back for the second. The throw comes in from the fielder and Karthik breaks the stumps, but replays show Smith had hit back in just in time. Smith charges Munaf on the last ball and slashes four to third man. Five overs to go. Pune need boundaries.
14th over:82 for 4 Harbhajan pulls things back after Pollard's last over. Two dot balls followed by a two and three singles. Twice Uthappa hit hard across the line, but didn't manage more than a run. One loft even dropped a few feet in front of long-on. A good over for Mumbai.
13th over: 77 for 4 Seven runs from the over. Steven Smith and Robin Uthappa are making efforts to get across their stumps and turn the ball into the open spaces on the leg side. Pollard was a bit too straight in that over. Varied his length from full and just short of a length. Smith using his wrists well to shovel the ball toward midwicket. Pollard also slips in a wide outside off stump.
12th over: Pune 70 for 4 Much needed boundaries in the over bowled by Franklin, the most expensive of the innings so far. Uthappa gets one on the pads and works it down to deep fine leg for four, and also smacks one past midwicket. Pune need more such shots to get to near a challenging total.
11th over: Pune Warriors 58 for 5 Still Pune struggle to collect quick runs. Pollard gives seven runs. No boundaries though.
10th over: Pune Warriors 51 for 4
