ICC SHIFTS CHAMPIONS TROPHY FROM PAKISTAN

There was some more bad news for Pakistan as the ICC has made up its mind to relocate the Champions Trophy from Pakistan in its Board meeting in Perth. The ICC admitted that several countries were uncomfortable with touring Pakistan and they were left with no choice but to look for an alternate venue. The new venue for the tournament will be decided before ICC's next meeting in April. The Champions Trophy was called off last year after several teams including South Africa and Australia refused to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns. The only saving grace for Pakistan is that as the original host nation for the Champions Trophy, the revenues of the tournament will stay with them. The Board also resolved to offer to form a task team to visit Pakistan and work with the PCB to find ways to ensure that, wherever possible, international cricket is played in the country in the future.
