Kallis may return for ODIs against Aussies

South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis, who was suffering from a groin injury, is likely to make it to the squad for the five-match ODI series against Australia, beginning in Durban on Friday after his medical examination failed to trace anything serious.Kallis captained the Proteas in absence of the injured skipper Graeme Smith in the Cape Town Test, during which he broke down with a groin-muscle injury while bowling on the last day of the match."It was thought that he had a tear. But the scans showed he has no tear which is very good news, just some scar tissue," a team spokesman was quoted as saying by the Australian Associated Press."Jacques (Kallis) has a chance to play on Friday," he said. The Proteas have already been buoyed by the sight of Smith batting in the nets and the regular captain is seemingly set to return to the side after recovering from a fractured little finger which kept him out of the third Test and the two Twenty20 internationals against Australia.
