INDIA VS ENGLAND 2nd TEST DEC 2008:-PIETERSEN SAYS HIS TEAM WILL BOUNCE BACK STRONGLY

The unexpected defeat against India in the first Test notwithstanding, England on Wednesday said they would go into the second match here with a positive frame of mind.

"Chennai was warm and humid. The playing conditions were difficult. Things are different here. We are very confident and will take the game in a positive frame of mind. We have learnt a lot of things from the first Test," England's wicketkeeper Matt Prior told reporters after his team's first practice session at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium here.

Prior said his team's aim was to "first and foremost get runs".

The England keeper confirmed captain Kevin Pietersen's rib injury but said he will play in the Test.

"Kevin will play this match despite the rib injury. He sustained that during the fifth one-day international against India. He is in top form."

Prior said England had practised the reverse swing delivery during their stint in Abu Dhabi.

"Reverse swing always plays a big role in India and we have practised keeping that in mind," he added.
