Six sides prepare to take a step closer to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

Afghanistan fast bowler dreams of playing ODIs against England and AustraliaSix countries will try to take a step closer to qualification for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 this week when they participate in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3 (WCL Div. 3). But only two will succeed.The tournament, held in Buenos Aires from 24-31 January, will see host team Argentina, Afghanistan, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and Uganda battle it out with the finalists progressing to the 12-team ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in April......

Pakistan fined for slow over-rate in Karachi ODI

The Pakistan team was fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during its 129-run defeat against Sri Lanka in the second ODI in Karachi on 21 January.Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fines after Shoaib Malik’s side was ruled to be two overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration......
